CREWS from Avon Fire and Rescue Service were called out to wheelie bin fires last night (Thursday, May 18).
Staff from the Weston-super-Mare Fire Station responded to reports of the fires at around 11.25pm. When they arrived to Grasmere Drive, they found four wheelie bins alight.
Crews were able to extinguish the fires using one high pressure hose reel, as well as a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots.
A spokesperson from the fire station said: "The cause of the incident is thought to have been deliberate ignition, and the incident has been left in the hands of police colleagues."
Avon and Somerset Police have been contacted for a comment.
