A WATER refilling station has now been installed in Weston's Italian Gardens.
The facility, which will help reduce the number of single use plastic containers in the resort, has been gifted to the town by Weston-super-Mare Civic Society.
The gesture has been made to mark the 50th anniversary of the society's founding.
At the handover ceremony on Wednesday morning (May 31), civic society chairman David Agassiz presented the gift to North Somerset Council Cllrs Mike Solomon, the executive member for culture and leisure and Mark Canniford, executive member for spatial planning, placemaking and economy.
Alan Rice, secretary of Weston-super-Mare Civic Society, said: "We are grateful for the collaboration with North Somerset Council and in particular to Ed McKay for assisting the process."
"It was built by EJ McGrath Construction Ltd.
"We very much hope people, both local residents and visitors, will take the opportunity to use this facility.
"It will reduce the number of single-use plastic containers."
