TWO nationally recognised comedians are going to be performing at Weston's Front Room theatre.

Priya Hall, who can often be seen on Comedy Central and the BBC, amongst other places, will be performing her show 'Grandmother's Daughter' on June 22.

The show's description says: "Priya Hall is obsessed with her nan to an unhealthy degree.

"Her debut show Grandmother’s Daughter is a joyful tribute to one old Welsh lady and the impossible standards Priya has to live up to as she prepares to become a matriarch of her own family.

"Packed with a level of oversharing that borders on the unhinged, this show promises a healthy dose of queer joy, storytelling and more jokes about sperm than Priya intended."

Meanwhile Helen Bauer, as seen on Live at the Apollo and Late Night Mash will be performing on July 6 with her show 'Grand Supreme Darling Princess.'

The show's description reads: "Award Best Newcomer nominee Helen Bauer brings a show all about the women in her life, from her mother to her best friend and that one girl who was mean in 2008."

Both shows start at 7.30pm on their respective dates.

A spokesperson from Front Room said: "We have not one but two nationally recognised stand up comedians coming to Front Room to do their Edinburgh fringe festival previews.

"It's such an amazing opportunity to see these great comedians before they go to the festival."

The Front Room theatre opened its doors in the old Pizza Express on Dolphin Square in December 2022.

With help from Theatre Orchard, Culture Weston and a grant from the Arts Council, the disused unit was soon transformed into an impressive independent venue.

Owners Emma and Adam said: "We believe that theatre is for everyone, and should be an informal and approachable space where everyone feels comfortable.

"It's part of being human to tell and listen to stories! We want it to feel as though it's a place for everyone to come and relax, have a great time and watch some great live performance."
