THE WEDMORE Friends of Weston Hospicecare held a charity event last week to raise funds for the hospice with the help of a fashion show.

A spokesperson for Wedmore Friends said: "Each year one of our events has been a Fashion Show (except during Covid) and this year the show was hosted by Kukkina of Cheddar.

"It was a very successful event and raised £2,165 which with £220 from a previous donation raised by Wedmore Friends the total of £2,385 was donated to the Hospice towards the cost of a scanner.

"It was a beautiful sunny day and the event was attended by 80 Ladies paying £10 per ticket.

"During the event a cream tea of scones, jam and cream was served and a raffle was held, various craft items were sold, succulent plants and wax melt candles were also sold.

"A Heads and Tails was held with each person paying £1 to play and the bar was open serving Prosecco and other drinks.  Clothes were also sold at the event and a donation was given by Kukkina to the Friends."
