One resident has fond memories of their time in Weston, saying: "Only lived in Weston for three years but absolutely loved it. Moved there when my Dad was posted back from Germany to RAF locking in 1978.

"I went to Priory Comprehensive when it was a brand new school. Had mates not only at Locking but Sand Bay and Kewstoke too who I'd cycle over to see...happy days!

"Left in 1981 to go back to Germany but I've never forgotten my days in Weston."

Others have been inspired by the group to start nostalgic projects of their own. One commenter said: "I joined this group not knowing what to expect but wow have I been pleasantly surprised.

"I’m 23 years old so seeing the rich history of my home town is amazing. I am a photographer and seeing all the old postcards and photographs has really inspired me to do a project on Weston.

"If anyone has anymore old photos, please send them my way!"

Another said: "Born and bred in Weston, worked most of my working life in the town. Have retired recently to live down the road in Burnham-on-Sea, went to Worle secondary from 1966. I have many memories of the town in particular Worle area, like the idea of this group sharing thoughts and memories."

Another person said: "First came to Weston-super-Mare in 1976, when my Dad was stationed at RAF Locking, returned in 1978 when parents divorced and have lived here ever since.

"Went to Locking Primary and St Martins School and Priory Comprehensive (as it was then). It has its good and bad, but I love living here."
