One resident spoke about how Weston has changed over the years: "I was born Ashcombe House 1963. Weston has changed over the years, good and bad, but I still love it.

"I lived in Uphill, growing up horses was my thing in the little stables by the pub Ship back in 70s."

In response to this, another commented: "I grew up in Uphill in the 70s&80s, my dad was the local bobbie, my mum was the lollipop lady. It was a fantastic place to grow up in."

Editor of the newspaper, Tim Lethaby, posted on the group: "This group is for anyone who wants to share their old pictures and memories of Weston-super-Mare and the surrounding areas.

"By posting in the group you consent to the Weston Mercury using the photos and comments in our respective publications, websites and social media channels.
