A six-year-old from Worle has raised £880 in three days for Young Epilepsy ahead of taking part in the Bristol Inflatable 5K last Saturday.

Albie Kelly, who was diagnosed with Epilepsy in March, and his family have been educating themselves on the vast and complicated subject of Focal Epilepsy and wanted to turn their turbulent journey into a positive to help others.

Albie received an email to say that his fundraising page was one of the most successful pages last month and he was in the top 20 per cent of fundraisers.

Albie’s family have described him as a “superhero” and “Epilepsy warrior."

“I am so proud of Albie," said mother Cherry Groves-Kelly.

"It has been hard to watch his epilepsy journey and we are only in the first chapter, but his resilience is infectious!"

The family's plan to continue raising awareness for Epilepsy in children since they have first-hand experience of how the condition can impact a young person's life.

Cherry added: “Raising money for young epilepsy is so important. The resources they have provided for us as a family along with other epilepsy charities have meant the more information and education we have had the more confidence we’ve had to deal with Albie’s diagnosis”
