A LANE on the M5 between Clevedon and Portishead has been closed due to standing water.
National Highways South West shared an update through its Twitter account asking motorists to “take extra care” when driving between J19 and J20.
The full update said: “Lane 3 (of 3) is closed on the M5 northbound between J20 Clevedon and J19 Portishead due to standing water following heavy rainfall in the area.
“It’s important to adjust your driving behaviour and take extra care in heavy rain conditions.”

National Highways also reported that a lane "is also now closed on the M5 northbound between J20 Clevedon and J19 Portishead due to a broken down vehicle".

The lane previously closed due to a broken down vehicle has been reopened at around 11.47am.
Lane 3 remains closed due to standing water.
