WESTON'S Graham Road Surgery are the worst ranked GP when it comes to patient satisfaction, according to a NHS England survey.

The surgery, which can be found on 22 Graham Road, has an overall patient satisfaction rating of 49%, a heavy contrast compared to other doctors' surgeries in the region.

For example, Clevedon Medical Centre boasts an impressive 82% patient satisfaction rating.

A spokesperson from Pier Health Group said: “While we are disappointed, we value this important feedback on our services and will continue to reflect on the views from our patients as we work to improve services at the practice.

“Significant developments have been implemented over recent months, such as new technical improvements to our phone systems to give patients shorter waits and faster access to appointment bookings and other support from the surgery.

"We also have a multi-disciplinary team in place that supports our patients to get the right care from the right person sooner.

“We are working towards long-term improvements too and look forward to moving our services to a brand-new facility on the Weston Rugby Club development, which will provide further opportunities to deliver the best services to our patients.

“We know that more needs to be done and we’ll continue to work collectively with our staff and partners to deliver our services and support our patients in the best possible way.”

A spokesperson for Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire ICB, said: “We welcome this valuable feedback on local GP services, and are pleased to see that results across our area are above the national average in many areas of the survey, including people’s overall experience of an appointment and overall experience of making an appointment, the performance of healthcare professionals and their ability to recognise mental health needs.

“We also recognise there are areas for improvement.

“General practice is continuing to develop. Practices are working hard to make sure everyone can access the right support when they need it; whether that’s online or face-to-face.

"The GP surgery team is growing and patients may be offered an appointment with a specialist such as an advanced nurse practitioner, physiotherapist, or clinical pharmacist rather than a GP.

"Our local campaign ‘Your GP surgery team cares for you’ highlights some of the innovation happening in our area.”
