A YELLOW weather warning has been put in place in Weston and North Somerset for tomorrow (Wednesday, August 2).
The Met Office is putting people in the area on alert for thunderstorms between 9am and 7pm covering North Somerset, Bristol, The Midlands, a part of the North West and North East, most of Wales, East Anglia and the London area.
Weston and Clevedon and surrounding areas are most at risk from around 2pm until past 3pm
Heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop on Wednesday and may cause some flooding and travel disruption.
HERE'S WHAT TO EXPECT:
- Probably some damage to a few buildings and structures from lightning strikes;
- There is a good chance driving conditions will be affected by spray, standing water and/or hail, leading to longer journey times by car and bus;
- Delays to train services are possible;
- Some short term loss of power and other services is likely.
