A WESTON motorist has been banned for driving at almost twice the speed limit.

Jack Lee Walsh, 29, of North Hill Close, was caught going at 75mph in a 40mph zone on the M32 on December 11 last year.

He pleaded guilty to the offence and was sentenced at North Somerset Magistrates' Court last Monday (December 8)

Walsh was fined £537 and ordered to pay a £215 victim surcharge and £110 towards costs.

He was handed six penalty points and given a four-month disqualification from holding a driving licence.

He was told he must pay his total court bill of £862 at a rate of £50 a month commencing on September 5.
