FIRE crews have tackled a "deliberate" bench fire in Weston.
Crew members from Weston were called to Worle Moor Gate at around 8.44pm yesterday evening (Tuesday, August 15, 2023) after receiving reports that a bench in the area was on fire.
On arrival, they found one bench to be well alight.
Using one high pressure hose reel, they managed to extinguish the fire before it had chance to spread.
Crews believe that the fire was started deliberately.
There were no reports of any injuries or far-reaching damage to the surrounding area.
A spokesperson from the Avon Fire and Rescue Service said: "The cause of the incident is thought to have been deliberate ignition."
