RESIDENTS who applied for the Birthday Bus scheme and have their birthdays in October will benefit from free bus travel this month.

The Birthday Bus scheme means that those with upcoming birthdays can apply for free bus travel within the West of England area from now until July 31, 2024.

This includes the WESTlink on-demand bus service.

Here are some of the places you can visit:

Tyntesfield  

You can use the X6 bus service to get the Tyntesfield, which is located near Wraxall. The Victorian Gothic Revival house comes complete with extensive gardens, parkland, and a rich history.

Upcoming events include Edible Histories, Forest School Workshops, Visually Impaired Walks, and the Tyntesfield Halloween Trail.

Somerset International Festival of the Arts
 
Leading international chamber musicians and performers can be heard during a celebration of music and the arts.

This runs from Friday, October 6 to Sunday, October 8 at St Andrew's Church, in Church Lane, Backwell. Use the X1 or X8 bus services to attend.  
 

The Tropicana 

Residents can use the X1, 10 or 20 bus service to get to The Tropicana. In October Half Term, locals will be able to get their groove on at the Eleven Roller Disco.

On Tuesday, October 24, various roller sessions to suit all ages from 12 noon are available.

Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm 

You can travel to Noah's Ark Zoo Farm using the X6 bus services.

From October 9 to November 5, they will be holding their Pumpkin Fest event.
 

The Curzon Cinema 

To get to this Clevedon cinema, you can use the X5 bus service.

The Curzon Cinema and Arts launched Season One, a series of 47 curated screenings and live events between September and December, thanks to a £9,900 UK Shared Prosperity Fund grant from North Somerset Council.  

Weston Literary Festival 

This year's festival will take place from Thursday, October 5 to Sunday, October 8 across the coastal town.

Bestselling author Raynor Winn will headline the event at The Grand Pier. Raynor is best known for writing three Sunday Times bestsellers, including The Salt Path.

You can attend this event by using the 1, X1 or 7 bus services.
