A former Wrington Redhill footballer is running 50 miles throughout October to raise awareness for Prostate Cancer.

Chris Bradley’s aim is encourage men to get tested for an early diagnosis after a family member was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer.

Bradley has so far ran 43 miles and has already done three press-up challenges for both Prostate Cancer UK and Teenage Cancer Trust, bringing in around £1,700 for the two charities.

“My hope is by doing this challenge it will encourage men to go to their GP and get a PSA Test,” the former Redskins midfielder, turned defender, who spent 10 years with the Redskins and scored 27 goals in, 242 appearances before his retirement at the end of the 2022/23 season, said.

“The test is very quick, easy and simple. Something I will be doing in October! I will be running all over different parts of Weston during the challenge so feel free to give me a beep if you see me.

“Prostate cancer has not only affected my family but lots of other friends families so hopefully by doing this, if it helps one person with an early diagnosis then it will be well worth it!"

Bradley has put in place another challenge next year with his friends to raise money and awareness for Cancer Research UK and MND Association.
