WESTON locals have been sharing some historic photographs in the We Grew Up in Weston-super-Mare Facebook group.
Posting underneath this photo, one resident said: "What a great picture! Different to when we lived there, there was not a bandstand and no lights hanging around." It seems that many remember this store. One person commented: "The shops still there but so different. Remember the Co-op milk depot opposite where I used to fetch milk and eggs for mother paid with plastic milk cheques earned from returned bottles. Glass not darned plastic!"
Another added: "We used to get off the school bus and straight in there to buy sweets."
Editor of the newspaper, Tim Lethaby, posted on the group: "This group is for anyone who wants to share their old pictures and memories of Weston-super-Mare and the surrounding areas.
"By posting in the group you consent to the Weston Mercury using the photos and comments in our respective publications, websites and social media channels."
