THE mayor of Weston, Cllr Ciaran Cronnelly, said it was a "privilege" to lay a wreath as part of Weston's Remembrance Sunday service.
Weston residents fell silent yesterday (Sunday, November 12) to honour those who had lost their lives in the Armed Forces.
Posting on Facebook, the mayor said: "It was a privilege to lay a wreath today on behalf of Weston-super-Mare as part of our Remembrance Sunday service.
"Despite the rain there was a big turnout and it was fantastic to see so many people attending, and to see our veterans and various local organisations and individuals coming together.
"Thank you to everyone involved in making the service today happen and for everyone involved in the parade - I've seen the level of work and commitment involved first hand and I know there's been a huge amount of planning to make today run smoothly."
