House hunters in Weston-super-Mare got an exclusive look at new homes under construction.

They donned hard hats, hi-vis jackets, and boots to tour Bellway's Mead Fields development off Wolvershill Road.

The inside peek was hosted by Bellway Sales Advisors Rachel Collard and Francesca Coley during a 'dusty boots' event.

Offering a mix of two-bedroom apartments and two, three, and four-bedroom houses, the development is creating 150 homes in the area.

An independent advisor from New Homes Mortgage Helpline was present at the event to discuss potential mortgage options to interested buyers.

Rachel Way, Sales Manager at Bellway South West said: "The ‘dusty boots’ event gave people a rare opportunity to get a real behind-the-scenes view of houses being constructed.

"Would-be buyers were able to gain a better appreciation of how their home is put together and the high quality of the care and workmanship that goes into building the property."

She added that the event proved successful, with two people reserving homes following their visit.

Way highlights the appeal of the site: "The development is just a short drive from Weston-super-Mare town centre, which offers supermarkets, shops, pubs and restaurants, and there is also the lovely sandy beach.

"Moreover, the location is attractive to commuters as it has easy access to nearby junction 21 of the M5 for Gloucester or Exeter and is just a mile from Worle railway station, for trains to Bristol or Exeter."

Demand at the site has been high, with only eight homes remaining for sale.

Prices start at £217,500 for a new home at Mead Fields.

Bellway is also working on the Peregrine View development in nearby Cheddar.

Just like at Mead Fields, a similar site tour was organised on September 23 featuring Sales Advisors Rachael Spencer and Jane Mackness.

Way emphasised the importance of such events: "Looking behind the scenes at a construction site is not something that visitors can normally do, but we think it’s important to show people all that goes into making our developments great places to live."

Both Mead Fields and Peregrine View are now open for reservations.
