A CYCLIST was taken to hospital following a collision with the car in Weston yesterday evening (Thursday, November 16).

Police were called to Ashcombe Road at around 6.20pm yesterday following reports of the collision. The cyclist, a man in his 40s, is believed to have sustained injuries "not considered to be life-threatening."

The road was closed whilst police carried out their investigation, but was reopened at around 9.30pm.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: “We were called shortly before 6.20pm yesterday evening (Thursday, November 16) following reports of a collision between a bike and a car in Ashcombe Road, Weston-super-Mare.

“The cyclist, who is a man in his 40s, was taken to hospital with injuries not considered to be life-threatening.

"The road reopened at about 9.30pm.

“Witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage is asked to call 101 and quote reference number 5223280814.”
