POLICE stopped around 20 vehicles for several offences during a traffic operation.

Officers from the Bournville and Uphill Neighbourhood team were out in force in the Bournville, Oldmixon, Coronation and Uphill areas during the initiative on Friday (November 17).

A spokesperson for North Somerset Neighbourhood Policing said: "Approximately 20 vehicles were stopped for a number of offences, including speeding, driving with the incorrect insurance, obstruction and driving contrary to road signs and road markings.

"The majority of drivers were given warnings about their driving, however a ticket was issued.

"We are aware of poor driving in the above areas and will be conducting similar operations in the near future."
