THE MP for Weston, John Penrose, attended a meeting last week to celebrate the unveiling of a new defibrillator at Sweeney Todd's Barber Shop.
On Friday, November 17, Mr Penrose met with the project's senior management team at the store, which is the headquarters of the Donate for Defib campaign group.
The lifesaving equipment was purchased using the money raised from various fundraising events, including a Race Night which took place on November 11 at The Regency Pub.
At the event, the team discussed the importance of making the defibrillators publicly available and discussed the thought around putting the research into the Parliamentary Bill.
Mr Penrose said that he will try and find some further information out, the team are currently awaiting further details to progress the project forward.
Four defibrillators can now be accessed in Weston thanks to the scheme. These can be found at the George & Dragon Pub, The Regency Pub, The Waverley Pub, and Sweeney Todd's Barber Shop.
