PLANS have been submitted to install two artificial turf nets at Weston's Cricket Club.

The planning application for the Devonshire Road club was validated by the council on Wednesday, November 29, after being received on November 16.

One of the considerations for the application includes the flood risk.

The flood risk assessment document reads: "The proposals have no new impermeable surfaces and thus no additional surface water capability.

"Climate change is likely to increase the flow in rivers and raise sea levels and storm intensity. The proposed development is likely to be at more risk of flooding in the future.

"The risk of flooding from fluvial, groundwater and sewer services is considered very low

"The development will be unaffected in a 1:1000-year flood event.

"The development will not add to surface water run-off."
