WESTON'S new Plaza Cinema is set to open its doors this week, screening a whole host of new films for your entertainment.

From Friday, December 15, residents will be able to watch all the latest films at the new venue, which was formally the ODEON.

Having closed in June, the building was purchased by the Merlin Cinemas team, who will continue to bring the magic of cinema to Weston residents.

At 6.30pm on the night, Weston residents will be transported back in time with Napoleon, an action epic which details the rise of Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte.

For those chocolate lovers amongst us, there will be a showing of Wonka, starring Timothée Chalamet, Olivia Colman and Hugh Grant. This will start at 7pm with a prelude by the cinema's historic Compton organ.

At 7.30pm, there will be a screening of The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, followed by a showing of Love Actually at 8pm for the festive film's 20th anniversary.
