A high-in-demand affordable housing development has been completed in Congresbury.

A total of 19 new-build shared ownership homes have been brought to fruition through a joint endeavour involving LiveWest, Freemantle, and Tallagh.

25 energy-efficient homes were added to the market with the aid of grant funding from LiveWest’s strategic partnership with Homes England.

First-time buyer, Jack Benjamin, along with his partner, were among the fortunate new owners moving in over the holiday season.

Mr Benjamin, 27, said: "It just feels so surreal to be here for Christmas.

"We are really happy here and it feels like home.

"I feel like we have already been here for a long time.

"LiveWest supported me through the whole process.

"Everyone was really helpful, and every representative really made me feel at ease and provided us with as much detail as possible.

“Being a first-time buyer, you’re not always sure about the buying process but LiveWest were really knowledgeable and supportive.”

Enjoying the annual holiday spirit, the couple have decorated their house with glistening lights, a festive wreath on the door, and a tree inside.

Mr Benjamin added: "We have decorated, and the tree is up.

"We are really pleased with it.

"With it being a new build, it’s like a blank canvas so you can make it your own.

"My home is trendy, modern and it has solar panels, which will help reduce my energy bills."

In addition to shared home ownership, the development features six rental properties, including four self-contained flats and one adapted for improved accessibility.

The energy-efficient homes are sustainable, diminishing the development's carbon footprint and aiding in cost-efficient living for residents with solar panels and high-quality insulation.

Mr Benjamin added: "This is my first home through shared ownership, and I definitely recommend LiveWest as they have really supported me through this process."
