A Met Office spokesperson said the expected rain “brings the potential for disruption to travel and a risk of flooding” across Somerset.
The weather agency says:
- Longer journey times on buses and trains are expected
- Longer journey times on the roads due to spray and flooding are expected
- Flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely
- Some interruption to power supplies and other services is likely.
If you need to travel in heavy rain or strong winds, the Met Office recommends reducing your speed, avoiding driving through floodwater and keeping a safe distance to vulnerable road users, such as pedestrians and cyclists.
