A MOTORIST from Weston has received a driving ban for speeding at over 100mph on the M5 in North Somerset.

Maximilian Thomas Bull, 33, of Churchward Road, has admitted doing 106mph on the 70mph limit motorway southbound between Junctions 19 and 20 on April 28 last year.

He changed his original plea of not guilty to guilty when he appeared at North Somerset Magistrates' Court, Magistrates fined him £583 and ordered him to pay a £233 victim surcharge along with a contribution of £90 towards prosecution costs Bull was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 14 days.

He must pay his total court bill of £906 at a rate of £50 a month commencing on February 1.
