A 'Dartathon' fundraiser has raised over £1,000 for the Weston-Super-Mare Donate For Defib project.

The 24-hour charity event took place on January 20 at the 49 Social Club.

Organised by the establishment and the Weston Bulldogs Darts Team, participants, including four members of the Century Club Skittles Team, played both darts and skittles continuously.

Further funds were raised through a pool game, a raffle, and two successful rounds of 'Guess the Bear'.

Overall, the fundraiser accumulated £1,114, which does not include any sponsorship contributions.

These funds will help towards the installation of a defibrillator at the 49 Social Club.

Following the announcement of the total amount raised, a spokesperson for the Senior Management Team of the Donate For Defib Weston-Super-Mare Project expressed their gratitude.

They said: "They are delighted to hear that the event was such a success after the hard work that everyone has dedicated.

"Thank you so much to the 49 Social Club and the Weston Bulldogs for their continued efforts and support and the people of our local community who have supported this cause throughout the event, to support our local community to raise funds for more life-saving defibrillators".
