The Food Works SW has announced it will hold a Discovery Day next month to showcase their specialist kitchens to businesses.

The food and drink innovation centre will be opening its doors on February 22.

The free event is open to all food and drink brands looking to grow their business, whether they need to develop a product, seek technical advice, or take the next step in their business journey.

The Discovery Day at the North Somerset site will showcase the facility's specialist kitchens, including their bakery, dairy, and drinks kitchens.

Talks will be given by invited guest speakers, including Butcombe Brewery’s Development Chef Jasper Prickett and Ellie Brown, Founder of Kinda Co, who will discuss how their businesses benefitted from their time at The Food Works SW.

Industry experts like Greg Parsons, owner of Sharpham Dairy and Chair of Food Drink Devon and Gabriel David, Managing Director of Royal Warrant holder Luscombe Drinks, will also lend their insights.

Since the centre's grand opening in October 2021, over 150 businesses have availed of their services.

Products like gelato, water kefir, vegan cheese, chilli sauces, high protein cookies and frozen ready meals have been successfully developed there.

Mr Parsons of Sharpham Dairy said: "I'm delighted to be part of The Discovery Day and I'm looking forward to meeting other food businesses and sharing my own business journey with them.

"The event is also a great opportunity to see and hear first hand how Food Works can help food and drink products take crucial next steps in their development".

Discovery Day attendees will have ample opportunity to hear from brand representatives who have aligned with each speciality kitchen.

The Food Work's in-house technical experts, Zoe Plant and Rachel Goff, will perform demonstrations with each kitchen's state-of-the-art equipment and offer advice on a variety of pertinent topics.

Becky Hale, marketing manager at The Food WorksSW, said: "We’ve designed the Discovery Day around our three main specialist kitchens so people can see just how fantastic each of them are for product testing, refining or development, and hear from people from the food and drink industries who have used our facilities first hand or who can provide invaluable advice".

Also available for viewing during the day will be Food Works’ meeting rooms and conference facilities.

Its coffee shop and business lounge will be open to visitors throughout the day.

Attendees may also take advantage of a guided tour of the facility.

Food WorksSW is the only centre of its kind in South West England, with five top-of-the-line product development kitchens available for flexible short-term contract hire.

Located in the heart of Weston-super-Mare Enterprise Area, it is less than a 30-minute drive from Bristol.
