A fundraiser to install a defibrillator at a local social club was opened after a presentation by the Donate For Defib Weston-Super-Mare Project team.
The initiative was presented to committee members of the GWRSA Bridgwater on January 27.
Project co-lead Josh Bell and Christina Chell used Microsoft PowerPoint to thoroughly explored its aims, objectives and importance.
GWRSA committee members wanted to know about the possibility of purchasing and fundraising for a publicly accessibly defibrillator at its social club.
As a result, a fundraising Enthuse page was set up for any donations made by social club members.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the project team said: "Both Josh and Christina would like to thank the GWRSA Social Club for their warm welcome, and look forward to visiting them again in the near future when their defibrillator is purchased and installed, following their fundraising along with the social club members undertaking CPR training sessions in the future."
Some members of the social club also completed an anonymised Google form, so the Donate For Defib team could gain research on public understanding of CPR and the use of a defibrillator.
