THREE men have been caught on CCTV dumping a fridge freezer at Weston's Somewhere To Go Day Centre.

The not-for-profit organisation, based on 4a Boulevard, said that the centre was subject to graffiti and fly tipping.

Posting on Facebook today (Tuesday, February 20), a spokesperson for the charity said: "Overnight our day centre was subject to both criminal damage by the way of graffiti on our premises, and we caught on CCTV three men carrying and dumping a fridge freezer on our property which as a charity we will need to now pay to get disposed of.

"These acts of criminal damage and fly tipping take funds away from us providing resources for our clients."

Dan Heley, chair of trustees at Somewhere to Go, added: "Thankfully acts of criminal damage and fly tipping with our premises are rare.

"However, their is always going to be a cost associated with rectifying damage like this and every pound we spend on having to carry out such work is money that has to be diverted from supporting the town's most vulnerable community.

"At a time when we are already seeing a significant reduction in donations of food and other resources as a result of the cost-of-living crisis which is hitting everyone hard, any unnecessary expense for the charity is unfortunate."

The Weston Mercury attempted to obtain a Crime Reference Number.
