Have you dreamed about being a detective in a murder mystery?

Now you have a chance to show off your skills with a special event.

Amateur sleuths across the South-West are invited to a murder mystery night at Cadbury House in Congresbury on March 22.

The gothic venue has become well-known for hosting these regular events, which have grown in popularity.

The scene is set in 1952, just after the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.

The story revolves around the villagers of the quaint Prinkton-on-Sea, who gather to celebrate by creating a new cricket pitch on the village green.

Controversy begins to brew as the village debates the renaming of their local pub, leading to an eventful meeting at the local guest house which results in dire consequences.

General manager at Cadbury House, Gareth Ireland, revealed the appeal of such nights: "Murder mystery nights are still one of the most popular events we hold here at Cadbury House.

"It provides the perfect backdrop and there are plenty of rooms, stairs, nooks and crannies where the killer can get up to their dastardly deed without being noticed!"

He added, "Those who come along will be in for a fantastic night of detective work, while enjoying the ambiance and atmosphere of the 19th Century house."

Ticket prices for the murder mystery night stand at £49 per person, which includes a three-course meal.

The menu features a starter of sweet potato, coriander and coconut soup, followed by a main course of roast pork tenderloin with grain mustard and sage mash, and a dessert of chocolate and marmalade bread and butter pudding.

The venue reassures patrons that dietary requirements will be catered for separately.

Those wishing to participate in the event can book tickets by emailing info@cadburyhouse.com, calling 01934 834 343, or by visiting the official Cadbury House website.
