A new Youth Awards Ceremony has been unveiled to celebrate exceptional children and young people across North Somerset.

The initiative is run by Reset WSM, a Community Interest Company that provides youngsters with opportunities that foster growth, learning, resilience, and the development of life skills.

The company said in a statement: "We are passionate about giving children and young people opportunities that enable them to grow in confidence, to learn, to build on their individual strengths, to show resilience when things are challenging and build their life skills to enable them to become independent, active members of the community".

This year's Youth Awards Ceremony is all about amplifying the achievements of children and young people who have displayed great resilience and triumphed over exceptional circumstances.

Reset started accepting nominations from March 1 and will continue through to March 29.

The event will feature a variety of categories, including Action Champion, Arts and Culture Champion, Caring Champion, Enterprise Champion, Environmental Champion, Fundraising Champion, Learning Champion, Sporting Champion, Superhero Champion, Team Champions, and Children’s Support Champions.

Weston Mercury: The finals will be held on July 12 at the famous Winter Gardens

The nomination process is straightforward; potential candidates or teams can be nominated for the relevant category using a designated form.

After that, the nominations should be submitted by email.

There will be three finalists for each category, who will be invited to the Finalists Evening Event on May 16, and finally, the Youth Awards Ceremony will be held on July 12 at the famous Winter Gardens.

One distinct feature of the event is that the winners of the Youth Awards will be offered free mentoring by a member of the Reset Team or sponsors from the community.

This mentorship is designed to nurture the abilities of these exceptional young people further.

But the positive impact of the Youth Awards doesn't stop there.

The organisation is also soliciting community support.

This could range from becoming a mentor, offering work placement opportunities, providing an experience, sponsoring a category and even volunteering at Reset.

Other options include donations for the finalist gift bags that the exceptionally gifted children and young people would receive at the awards ceremony.

Interested parties can directly reach out to Candice Davies or Kaylee Rose at Reset on 01934 707810 or at Admin@resetwsm.co.uk to learn more about the event and how they can help bolster this celebration of young talent.
