Breakfast with a view at Weston's Revo Kitchen & Terrace

That’s why I thought I’d try out Revo Kitchen & Terrace, which has glorious views out to sea and some positive Tripadvisor reviews. One commenter has even described it as "top notch."

It was about time to give it a try.

The service and the restaurant itself

I wasn't sure what to expect from the restaurant itself, but I was pleasantly surprised and pleased with my choice when I walked in.

Near the front door, there is a takeaway section where visitors can get delicious coffee, pastries and more on-the-go.

Past that is the restaurant itself. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was a tempting display of sweet treats, which instantly made my mouth water (despite the fact that it was about 9.30am).

After waiting at the host stand for only a few seconds, I was quickly shown to a window seat by a smiling waitress, who set the tone for some brilliant service.

I really enjoyed the ambiance of the place. There was a piano in the middle of the room, as well as modern dangling lights and plenty of sofas and comfortable seating areas.

I can imagine that this is the perfect place to go with some friends to have a couple drinks and unwind from a hectic week.

I think the company's website puts it perfectly: "From big comfy sofas and armchairs to a mix match of dining tables, our vision is for Revo to feel like your home from home, where you can find students with an espresso, work colleagues having a brunch meeting, a group of friends enjoying cocktails or a family having cakes and smoothies.

"We are a dog friendly environment inside and out, relax in comfort with us with your entire family, not leaving your furry friends behind."

The views out were incredible, despite the fact that it was a bit overcast and the water was choppy.

The food

Now, on to the part everyone has been waiting for: the food.

Since it was still quite early and I wasn't in the mood for a massive meal, I decided to go for the Eggs Royale, a firm favourite of mine, as well as a standard latte.

What struck me first was the presentation of my breakfast. The hollandaise sauce wasn't just dumped on top of the salmon, but was actually used to decorate the plate, which was a really nice touch.

The eggs themselves were runny and delicious, whilst the salmon tasted fresh. The chef didn't skimp on any of the ingredients, either.

Other breakfast options include the Revo Big Breakfast, doorstop sandwiches, smashed avocado and a breakfast burrito, to name a few.

I paid £10.50 for my Eggs Royale, which I thought was a fair price given the taste and presentation.

It's hard for me to find a fault in my visit to Revo Kitchen, which is a sure sign that I'll be back for more.

Next time, maybe I'll try something like the Breakfast Burrito or maybe even a lunch.
