WESTON residents can enjoy a series of free outdoors events at Grove Park this Easter Monday.

Presented by Super Culture and Friends of Grove Park, the family fun day will take place from 12.30pm until 3.30pm on April 1.

There will be a family-friendly show called Anyday from 2pm until 3pm, presented by circus artist Max Calaf Sevé, who specialises in trampoline acrobatics, object manipulation and physical theatre.

The show tells the charming tale of Max, who lives on a trampoline with only his little pet bird for company. Every day is the same, but Max decides he wants a change, so they embark on an adventure together.

The show comes to Weston as part of Circus Around and About 2, a south-west touring circus project, funded by an Arts Council England Lottery Project Grant.

The project is led by Take Art with principal partners Crying Out Loud and Extraordinary Bodies, in collaboration with nine presenting partners including Super Culture.

The project aims to welcome diverse audiences including D/deaf, disabled and neurodivergent people.

The project also aims to support the circus sector.

Crafts will also be on offer from 12.30pm. The craft sessions will involve using recycled materials from Community Scrapstore North Somerset.

During the event, Sprout Cafe will be serving a tasty selection of food and drinks.

Visitors are encouraged to bring a picnic blanket and enjoy the bank holiday along with their families.

Fiona Matthews, creative director at Super Culture, said: “We’re delighted to come together with Friends of Grove Park to bring a burst of creativity and culture to the great outdoors.

“Max Calaf Sevé’s performance of ‘Anyday’ marks the first in a series of outstanding contemporary circus shows coming to Weston as part of the regional Circus Around and About 2 programme.

“Events will happen in relaxed and accessible environments with the intention of increasing a welcome to diverse audiences including d/Deaf, disabled and neurodivergent people.

“Bring your picnic blanket along to Grove Park and relax into a Bank Holiday Monday with additional bounce!”
