WESTON residents may have sore legs today after running the town's Super Half Marathon over the weekend (Sunday, March 24).
This year, the Albert Goodman Weston Super Half partnered with charities such as the Great Western Air Ambulance, the RSPCA North Somerset Branch and Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
The town's mayor, Cllr Ciaran Cronnelly, and the local RNLI crew also ran to raise money for Christopher Lyons' family,
Crew member Christopher sadly passed away unexpectedly last December.
Speaking yesterday, the mayor said: "A massive well done to the RNLI Weston-super-Mare team who ran the Weston Super Half today in memory of crew member Chris 'Bod' Lyons.
"Big big effort by all.
"They did this run to raise money for Chris' 11 year old son."
A Visit Weston-super-Mare spokesperson added: "We take our hats off to everyone who took part, including a good contingent from Weston Athletic Club, and we thank all the spectators, marshals and helpers who combined to make it such a great event."
