IN 2018, a new attraction opened at Puxton Park with the help of a British Winter Olympic hero.

Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards was on hand to celebrate the opening of the park’s £300,000 high ropes course.

The ski jumper won the hearts of the nation at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, taking part in the 70m and 90m events.

The Eagle tested himself on the high ropes course, which was suspended 20ft in the air. Puxton Park billed it as ‘one of the most exciting and challenging courses in the West of England’.

The park also opened a Sky Tykes course, designed for children aged two to seven.

Speaking at the time, Puxton Park managing director, Alistair Mead, said: “Since opening more than 10 years ago, we have worked hard to add new and exciting attractions every year; this may be one of my favourites.”
