AN outline planning application has been submitted to build up to 48 dwellings in Weston.

The application for Land To East Of Lynx Crescent Hutton also includes engineering works, associated infrastructure and ancillary works.

The Design and Access Statement, prepared by Pad Design on behalf of South West Strategic Developments, reads: "The site at Land East of Lynx Crescent (Hutton) is envisaged to deliver up to 48 new homes, as an integrated and complementary extension to the residential development at Woodside Avenue (known as Foxglove Meadows) by Lovell Homes.

"This document supports an application by SWSD to North Somerset Council for outline planning permission to develop the site.

"It includes parameters and guidance to inform future detailed design and reserved matters submission(s).

"The site is well located, close to established employment areas and existing facilities (including schools and shops), with opportunities for active travel and access to nearby bus services.

"Its development will provide further pedestrian connectivity, improving links to Haywood Village to the north and towards Broadway/Oldmixon Road via Public Open Space.

"The site will provide an inclusive mix of new homes with a mix of type and tenure to help encourage an inclusive community.

"Development will be positioned on a plateau outside of the floodplain, and include a Sustainable Drainage System (SuDS).

"It will be set within a framework of green infrastructure, which also benefits the setting of the forthcoming adjoining play area."
