St Peter's Hospice has appointed Susan Hamilton as its new CEO.

She replaces the charity's previous CEO, who recently retired from the role.

Ms Hamilton joins with a background of high-ranking roles in the healthcare industry.

Her responsibilities include leading the work of the charity in giving care for adults with incurable diseases, and providing support for grieving family members and loved ones.

Before accepting her new role, Ms Hamilton held the position of director of public health at North Northamptonshire Council.

She also holds non-executive directorships, on the boards of University Hospitals Bristol and Weston, and Taff Housing.

Ms Hamilton said: "Throughout my career, I’ve been passionate about improving the quality of care and reducing health inequalities, working closely with local communities and organisations.

"It’s a privilege to be able to continue this work at St Peter’s Hospice and I look forward to leading this exceptional charity."
