A WOMAN sadly died at the scene of a property fire in Weston yesterday (Thursday, April 25).
Emergency services were called to the scene on Shelley Road at around 4.30am yesterday.
Although she has yet to be formally identified, the woman's next of kin have been informed.
A spokesperson from the Avon and Somerset Police force said: "We were called by the fire service shortly after 4.30am yesterday (April 25) to a report of a fire at a property in Shelley Road, Weston-super-Mare.
"A woman sadly died at the scene. Formal identification has yet to be completed, however her next of kin has been informed and our thoughts are with her family.
"A man was also taken to hospital by the ambulance service. He has since been discharged.
"The cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed and is being treated as unexplained while enquiries continue.
