RUNNERS from across the region are gearing up for the return of the Albert Goodman Weston Super Half, which will take place on Sunday (October 19).
Now in its latest edition, the Weston Super Half has become one of the town’s biggest annual sporting events, attracting thousands of participants and spectators to the seafront.
Residents are being reminded that temporary road closures will be in place along sections of the seafront and town centre during the event, with details to be confirmed closer to the date.

Known for its coastal route, the half-marathon includes stretches along Weston’s seafront and a finish on the Grand Pier.
Although entries for this year’s event have now closed, organisers are encouraging Weston residents to come out and support the runners on the day.
Crowds are expected to line Marine Parade, Knightstone Island, and the seafront.
In addition to the main half marathon, the Community Mile will return, giving families and fun runners the chance to take part in a more accessible event on the same day.
Volunteers and marshals are also being recruited to help ensure the race runs smoothly.
