A spokesperson said: "Due to the red weather warning and forecast extreme temperatures, Puxton Park will be closed on Wednesday, June 24 and Thursday, June 25.
"The safety and wellbeing of our team members, animals, and visitors is always our top priority, and we have made the difficult decision to close the park during this period."
The attraction apologised to those who had planned to visit, adding that customers with bookings would be contacted directly.
"We know many of you may have been looking forward to your visit and we're sorry for any disappointment this may cause," the statement added.
"Anyone that has a pre-existing booking will be contacted by our reception team."
Puxton Park said it expects to reopen on Friday, June 26.
Despite the closure of the main attraction, the site’s farm shop, butchers, and Meadows Restaurant will remain open as usual.
The team also urged people to stay safe during the hot weather.
"Thank you for your continued support, and please stay safe and keep cool," the statement said.
