A new headteacher with nearly 30 years of experience has taken the helm at a primary school in Weston-super-Mare.
Jacqi Stephens has been appointed to lead Corpus Christi Catholic Primary School, part of the Dunstan Catholic Education Trust.
Ms Stephens brings with her a wealth of experience, including five previous headships and a background in executive leadership, school improvement, and Catholic education.
She said: "I am delighted to be joining Corpus Christi and to become part of such a thriving school and church community.
"There is a real sense of pride in the school, and I am keen to work with our children, families, staff, and parish community to build on what is already here."
One of her top priorities is strengthening links with parents and carers.
Ms Stephens said: "One of my priorities is to strengthen communication with families and the wider community.
"I want parents and carers to feel that they are part of the school and that we are listening to their views and working together for the benefit of our children."
She also emphasised her commitment to inclusion, saying: "Inclusion will also be a major focus for us.

"I am looking forward to building on the work already taking place to ensure every child is supported to take part, learn, and thrive."
The school is currently supported by an interim special educational needs co-ordinator (SENCO) while the permanent SENCO is on maternity leave.
Ms Stephens also highlighted the importance of the school's Catholic ethos.
She said: "I also feel very strongly about the importance of Catholic social teaching and the values it brings to school life.
"It gives us a strong foundation for working together as a community and helping our children understand the importance of kindness, dignity, responsibility, and looking out for others."
Plans are also under way to improve school facilities, including new play equipment and enhancements to the lunchtime play area.
The school is exploring the possibility of opening an on-site nursery, subject to demand.
Helen Taylor, CEO of the Dunstan Catholic Educational Trust, said: "Jacqi brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to working in partnership with families and the wider community.
"We look forward to supporting her as she builds on Corpus Christi’s strengths and leads the school into its next chapter."
