Final decision on 41ft phone mast will be made by planning inspector

A 41ft telephone mast could still be installed in Worlebury despite council objections, as the decision is now in the hands of a planning inspector.
Telefonica UK Ltd, which works with Vodafone, wanted to install the mast by the golf course in Monks Hill to allow for the roll-out of 4G wifi.
The plan was rejected by North Somerset Council in April due to concerns it would detract from the picturesque village.
The planning meeting was told the golf club was open to having the mast on its land, further away from the village, so people had the benefit of better phone signal, without the visual detraction.
However, members of the public said Telefonica had refused to discuss that option.
Telefonica has appealed the council’s decision and comments can be made to the planning inspectorate on https://acp.planninginspectorate.gov.uk by November 7.
