While many families spent their Christmas morning exchanging presents, several swimmers took to Weston-super-Mare’s Marine Lake, in Knightstone Road, to raise money for Weston RNLI and Weston Hospicecare.

The annual fundraising event has now been running for more than 10 years and is organised by The Cove restaurant, in Birnbeck Road, and saw groups of all ages take part, including a swimmer of just eight years old.

Some 50 people took to the water, and were cheered on by 400 well-wishers, who donated wine to be raffled.
