60-a-day for marathon man Richard

FANCY running 60 miles in a day? Believe it or not, that’s just ‘a short stroll’ for marathon man Richard Bartlett.
Nursing assistant Richard, who lives in Worle and works at Weston General Hospital, is taking on the run – from the hospital to Wells and back – on September 3.
It’s a run which would kill most of us, but which holds no fears for Richard, who has previously tackled a 100-mile run.
He said: “I have always loved running since I started 30 years ago when I was a teenager. I did years of club running with Weston Athletics Club and I love running off-road.
“There is no particular knack to running longer distances – you just have to hydrate yourself properly and know your body well.”
Richard’s run will complete a big year, which has also seen him marry sweetheart Karen in Las Vegas and bungee jump off the third-tallest building in the world the following day.
