Plans to build 95 homes have been approved by Sedgemoor District Council.

An application to build bungalows and houses were proposed by Stratton Land Ltd to be built on the old Delta Engineering industrial park, in Newtown Road.

The plans, which have been in the works for a number of years, have now been approved.

The 95-home site will be made up of 59 houses and 36 bungalows as well as improvements foliage and highways system in the area.

The developer has also agreed to contribute £105,000 towards increasing flood defences for the town and £200,832 towards the education budget.

The plans have been altered since original submission after parking problems became a fear for Burnham and Highbridge Town Council but the developers aim to create 203 spaces across the site.
