A SPECIAL gala night is being held at Clevedon's Curzon Cinema to celebrate its 10th birthday.The celebrations, on November 29, will be kicked off with a special screening of the latest Aardman Animation creation Flushed Away.Curzon patrons Peter Lord and David Sproxton as well as directors from Aardman will be at the cinema for the special screening.Curzon chairman of trustees Chris Brain said: "We are very proud to have reached this significant milestone of our first 10 years and to have established The Curzon as a successful community enterprise."This special event provides the opportunity for local filmgoers to join us in celebration with an early screening of the latest animation feature film from Aardman Animations."Flushed Away is the latest from Aardman's partnership with Steven Spielberg's SKG Dreamworks.It is part written by Aardman founder and director Peter Lord and features the voices of Kate Winslet, Hugh Jackman and Sir Ian McKellen.Curzon general manager Jon Webber said: "The support from our friends at Aardman over a number of years has provided a continuing boost for everyone involved with the Curzon project and it is largely thanks to them that we are able to offer Flushed Away two days ahead of the UK release date."There will be a limited number of tickets available to regular Curzon filmgoers and these are available priced at £15 per head, with all proceeds going to the Curzon restoration fund.In addition to the new film, it is hoped that the audience will be treated to some earlier Aardman short animations, full details of which will be announced nearer the date.After the film there will be a question and answer session, giving the opportunity for the audience to ask questions of the Aardman directors.Those wishing to purchase tickets can call 01275 349010 between 10am and 1.30pm.There will be an initial allocation of only 100 general release tickets so people are being recommended to book early.
