TWO Portishead ladies have launched a gardening service with a difference.

Pretty Graves is the brainwave of Kate Wildish, aged 43 and Tiffany Chandler, aged 38, (pictured above) who from personal experience could see the need for a caring service to tend graves.

The ladies, who also run a taxi company called TK Karz, were used to taking clients to the cemetery, waiting for them and then taking them home again.

However, Kate, who lives in Hollis Avenue said: "It wasn't until Tiffany sadly lost her brother earlier in the year that either of us realised what a hard job it is keeping graves neat and tidy throughout the year.

"If we found it tough, we thought it must be very difficult for elderly and less able people.

"Then there are people who have moved away who still want to know that the graves of their loved ones are looked after."

The ladies offer a service to tend graves throughout North Somerset on a regular basis or to visit them on special anniversaries, tidy them up and take flowers.

They then take a photograph of their work and send it to the client.

Tiffany, who lives in Nore Road, said: "We can't believe how quickly people have heard about us.

"We have a client in Devon who heard about us from a relative in Portishead which is fantastic and shows us that the need is there.

"Obviously Christmas is a time when people want to organise flowers and wreaths to remember those who have passed away and we are pleased to be of help.

"I don't know of any other business offering the service we do and we hope to expand in to areas outside North Somerset once it takes off."
