A night of Cheddar's history

PUBLISHED: 11:00 04 July 2011

ANOTHER chance to catch a history of Cheddar is coming to the village.

Cheddar Arts’ Taste of Cheddar will be at the Kings Theatre in Station Road on July 20 following a successful night in May.

The evening will include a short film about the village and the neighbouring areas including memorable shots of the Cheddar floods and other footage from the Cheddar Valley from 1908 to 1970.

The audience will then be able to taste local cheese, chocolate and ciders and see historical documents and postcards.

The organiser, Gill Scard said: “It was so popular the first time and we had such a waiting list for tickets that we are doing it all again.”

Doors open at 7pm and the performance will begin at 7.30pm.

Tickets are available from the box office at Kings Fitness and Leisure Centre or via 01934 744939.
