A health club and spa has donated 400 individual sports items a secondary school.

Churchill Sixth Form and Academy's PE department received the donation from DoubleTree Hilton, Cadbury House, in Congresbury.

The equipment included spin bikes, Reebok Steps and risers, an assortment of different weight dumbbells, body pump plates and body pump bars.

The donation, arranged by fitness instructor Debi Lough, follows a £70,000 investment at the club that has just upgraded its main and spin studios.

Director of PE at Churchill Academy, James Hayne, said: "We're always looking to develop mutually beneficial relationships with local businesses for the benefit of the pupils, and this is a perfect example of that process in action. We champion sport and being active in a range of different ways at Churchill, and this will enable us to deliver even more opportunities to more of our students."
