THE Helicopter Museum rocked to the sound of post-war American swing music last weekend as it played host to a special World War Two dance night.

On Saturday night staff and volunteers dressed up as pilots, GIs and land girls to put on an unforgettable night from Britain’s patriotic past.

The hangers were filled with wartime decorations and guests dressed up in periodic clothing for the evening buffet and after-dinner entertainment from Swing Fever who played classics from the 1940s through to the 1960s. The West Country-based group specialise in swing and jazz music and have performed all over the world, including for the Queen in 2007.
